Dumb? Embarassing?

Huh?According to this article, a woman being ‘dumb’ is embarrassing because the stupidity is on a smaller scale. How does that make sense? This is the same kind of horseshit I expect from bad stand-up comedy and David Brooks.

"You know, these people are really like this. Aren't they? We all know they are. Haha!"

Brooks and Allen are infinitely worse, however, because they're trying to evoke actual intellectual accomplishment. But they're not researchers or sociologists. They're nothing more than commentators.

That the Washington Post (or the NY Times, in Brooks' case) publishes this kind of pap shows that they're basically heavier versions of People magazine and other pop media. These are our public intellectuals, while real thinkers stay to the sidelines.

God, I love how she applies a form of respectability to male irrationality, particularly violence, while diminishing women for their irrationality, which even she admits is largely harmless.
