You know that you have done amazing work when we know where something is headed . . . Jack up and leaving them . . . yet we still hang on every word.

I know I'm in the minority, but I find it hard to resent Jack for leaving --- he'd waited so very long. I do resent him for not preparing Ianto (and the others) for the possibility. He probably thought he was by telling Ianto he'd always come back, but it wasn't enough.

I can't wait for the sequel.

yeah but to my mind, when Jack is pelting across the Plass, he clearly has no intention AT ALL of every coming back. And in over 100 years of waiting, and with all the Hub's tech, there's no way it would have been impossible for him to have set up something like Tosh's goodbye - something that triggered if he DIDN'T log in for X days that said "guys, there's something you should know..." I get that he didn't have time to leave a note, but he just didn't give a damn about the impact on the people he was leaving behind. You can see it in the way he asks Ianto "how are you" in KKBB - he's positively cringing.

I like your idea of Jack leaving a message. That would have been VERY smart of him. But the again, it is Jack... :D

The cringing in KKBB could be because of a certain conversation that Jack has with a certain Jamie too... Have I told you lately that you're brilliant? :D

you're too kind! I've wanted to see him open Jack's eyes since about five minutes after he arrived in the fic. I remember my dear friends threatening mayhem if my OH hurt me - and Jamie sounds like he could atually see such a threat through!

of course, not sure what Ianto would think about that.

I ended up finding this story only a few chapters ago, but I've loved it. You are incredibly good at absolutely heartbreak scenes (*points to end of fic*), but I love the interactions you have written between Ianto and Jack, and how Jack is doing his best to try and make the relationship work. I can't wait to read the sequel!
