Whoa. That was amazing. I was absolutely bawling. Beautifully worded, the imagery was perfect, and the tone was so consistent. Just brilliant!

Hee, like I said, had fun with that one. It originally had a much more grim, definite ending, but something was missing, so... when Roseveare suggested the framing device, it all fell into place.
