Oh, I love your answer about Elena. And Buffy was always my favourite, but I definitely found I identified with her in very different ways at different stages of the show.

I loved Fred because of her heart and her brilliant mind and because of how much she was able and willing to adapt under nearly-unbearable circumstances. Hers is another death that ripped my heart out.
