He’d found… Anakin’s children to be pleasant enough, but they were hardly worth the fall of the Order and of the Republic.

That is an Obi-Wan though. However, I think he's going to find preventing the fall of the Republic like trying to drain the ocean with a *teaspoon*. He might have better luck at preserving the Order, but it will have to change; the storm is already coming, the best he can do is be prepared for the aftermath.

Another marvel to Obi-Wan was how easily Anakin sensed droids

Anakin *likes* droids. They're his pets. I love that he's been 'improving' the ones around him, surreptiously.

“I’m not entirely sure that that’s the best way to look at the situation,” Threepio said.

As C-3PO has left out that whole 'Master Anakin choked her into premature labour' bit...

This is going to get NASTY, isn't it?

Thank you!

Yeah, it's very... optimistic of Obi-Wan to think that the fall of the Republic is something easily preventable. Of course, he's in a place where he doesn't yet understand just how it could fall, especially not from within.

So Obi-Wan has fallen into the same trap as Anakin, and thinks that the future that they are in currently can be so easily prevented?

“If being with the Jedi has taught me anything, it’s just how valuable knowledge can be,” Anakin said.

Well, at least he learned something! :)

Another marvel to Obi-Wan was how easily Anakin sensed droids - Obi-Wan could but it was profoundly different, and far more difficult, than sensing lifeforms. To Obi-Wan, droids buzzed like unpleasant but unobtrusive insects, and didn’t feel at all like the clean and soft pulses and purrs of people.Lovely description here. :) And it reminds me of Nita and Kit in Diane Duane's the Young Wizard series (which starts with "So You Want to be a Wizard?" -- when someone asks me to recommend something since they finished the Harry Potter books, I always mention this series, and of course Susan Cooper's "The Dark is Rising" sequence). Kit's speciality is machines and Nita's is living things, in much the same way that we see with Anakin and Obi-Wan ( ... )

I do believe that desire is clouding their judgement. *tsk*

Hee, yes.
