Timeline: Set during Moebius (part 2). Well, it's pretty much speculative at this point. Part of the set that I have going on.

Gah! I have been thinking about this, and I have the impression that Daniel could have killed himself to preserve the timeline, except he can't because he had the responsibility of making sure Sam and Jack dont screw up. He can't trust them, obviously. I am pretty sure he'd be ready to do anything for that, but of course, he wouldn't use any brute force unless very necessary... and even if this is very cruel, I can see him do it because it sort of reaches a limit of brutal force that I totally see Daniel using. It hurts, it's tough, but it's so good. I guess I should feel sympathy for this AU Jack and Sam but damn.. I really don't.

OOOOO. That's intense stuff. On the one hand, if I was Sam, Daniel would be short a pair of balls at the moment. On the other hand, Sam was stupid to not think about affecting the timeline or being more careful (didn't the Egyptians actually have very good birth control methods? I thought I'd read that somewhere).

And I can really see Daniel doing this, being this calculating. It feels like since everyone he really cares for is dead and he's stuck 5000 years in the past, the only thing he has to focus on is not letting things get screwed up more than they have been. I think he'd follow that idea to the exclusion of everything else, even certain moral ethics he'd usually hold to.

Which is pretty much what you wrote him doing, so I guess this rambling is just one big emphatic head-nod. Also means I can stop typing any time now...

At this point, yeah, Daniel is definitely considering the needs of the future (including the future Sam Carter) over any possible desires that this Sam or Jack might have.
