Back to normal business - and Happy International Women's Day and Fettisdagen!

Dad was doing slightly better today. He's still not really contactable or lucid, but he's started to move his eyelids and even opened his eyes and almost focused them a few times. He's breathing well, but still lots of phlegm. I was there from 10:30 until 15:30 when my ( Read more... )

Whoa! AND lots of Moomins on the crockery! I just got the story-book - it's really thin (only 26 pages), but OH! the illustrations!

I love your March cats and Witches. WE don't have such a tradition in UK (not this bit of it, anyway); and it sounds like a good one.

oooooo...those Semlas look delicious. I'm sitting here having just eaten something I retrieved from a bakery garbage bin, and wishing I lived in Sweden right now (but trying to forget that living there might involve going outside in the cold). We really have no tradition of special food at this time of year, with the possible exception of pancakes on Shrove Tuesday - but even that tradition is dying rapidly.
By the way, I'm also admiring very much the piece of furniture which has the decanters on it. Beautiful woodwork.

And as always, I guess even the tiniest bit of improvement in your Dad's health is something to celebrate, although I can imagine you might be a long way off actually celebrating. Hang in there...
