Waffle Day 2009

It's that time of the year again - Swedish Waffle Day! It means that spring has finally arrived and that we get to eat waffles like mad.

This year it also means that is is now five years since my maternal grandfather Anton died, on March 25, 2004. He loved waffles, and every year since he died I've missed him especially much when we've made waffles ( Read more... )

I only use mine on Waffles Day =) or maybe once or twice after, but it's pretty slim and doesn't take much space and SO worth it. You can make sandwiches in it too if you want, very dangerous =)

Can you believe I'm still snivelling and coughing? Much much better, but still not well enough to go back to the gym, nor really hang around at the Uni library etc.. I've ventured out twice this week, but was exhausted when I came back home, so taking it very easy this week too. Third week of being ill.. argh!

The waffles are beautiful. That's such a specific, sensory thing to remind you of your grandfather -- that's pretty beautiful, too.
