a) a new set of tires and a splefty thermos. I am on top of the world, drunk with (consumer) power.

Media studies texts are so damn wordy. It's kind of a beautiful read, except for the needlessly complicated style and fucking redundancy of adding words words words until the sentence is of satisfactory length.
