COMMENT IF YOU CARE

well so, maybe i'm not doing the right thing by leaving this school. basically i just got a rather nasty email from one of my old teachers that said that he wouldn't be writing a recommendation for me because (what did you expect from an art school!) and (you would get the same thing at any 4 year university's art program). so i'm kind of angry. there is a thing you can apply for at CCA called deferment (excuse my spelling) and it means that if you decided to go to some other school (or just take a break for a year) and for some reason you realize that you dont hate this school after all, you can come back without reaplying or any other hoop jumping. And of course if you dont change your mind (and from the sound of it you wont) you dont ever have to come back here. It just leaves the option open ( ... )

I think Bob probably just cares about your future a lot and sees hella potential because of your abilities and is only trying to make sure you are positive of how you feel about your decisions? something like that.

but clearly you are very ready to find something else and move on from where you are. if the environment you're in isn't right and it's affecting you in unhealthy ways, there's no changing that. except that you've got to get out of that unfortunate situation and find a more suitable one. especially since you're paying a pretty penny for the whole shabang...

basically, just take it one day at a time and I know you'll figure something out that works best. don't get too +++overwhelmed. I know you already are.

I too am contemplating taking a semester off to figure shit out and get more $$$, but who knows. it makes me feel lazy to even THINK about not going to school for once. ahhh. scary. :/

p.s. sorry I didn't get your call tonight! h8 lyfe.

That teacher sounds like a dick.
Obviously, you're not getting what you want out of this. But burning your bridges completely may end up being a mistake because you could feel differently later. And regrets suck and all that. I would do as xcamelopardalis suggested and apply for deferment, that way you have that door open and you're free to relax and take some time off.

I didn't reply with anyting rude or unsavory. I let him know that I understand his position and I wish him the best. That was basically it.

All I have to say is...you sound fuckin' smart as hell. Regardless, I believe you'll succeed. Everyone has doubts, but take a real day, a weekened, or even an entire week just to focus on what you really want from life, a job, and your education. Make a fuckin list as juvenile as that may sound.
I'm scared about leaving for school. It's solely photography and I know how "artsy" people are because as much as I love my cameras my entire life does NOT revolve around it!

Like I said you're smart whatever you do will take you somewhere great...my opinion!

Your first sentence made me smile.
Basically I've decided that if I dont get into any of the school's I have applied to then I am just going to stay here for one more semester. That's really the only option, the chances of me going home for..7 months with my mother and the news not running a story on a most-likely-gonna-happen murder is very slim. I love my mother but, Christ. So, I'm glad I've got that settled because I don't handle stress very well.

You're welcome. I'm glad it made you smile! I feel you with the mom thing, but it's your life. She'll get over it, and if you don't do whats best for you...you'll never get over it.

Again...goodluck sweetie!
