The Lunar Eclipse last night was lovely, with the shadow of the Earth washing over the Full Moon left to right steadily while I watched it in the high southern sky.
Yep. And I'll put up pictures once I get home and get 'em processed. They're still on the camera.
I hope they're in focus - I, um, took out my contacts intending to take a nap, and then never napped. So by the time the eclipse happened, my contacts were about halfway through the whole "put 'em in solution for X hours and don't wear them or you'll BURN YOUR EYES OUT."
Which, by the way, is totally true. I've done it. I have no eyes.
Alton called us from his graveyard shift around 2 a.m. to tell Mirella to go out and have a look. Since the wolves (and/or coyotes) had been howling about ten minutes before, I wouldn't let her go out in the backyard alone. We managed to see it through the back sliding glass door. Once I confirmed that she could see it without going into the danger of the wilds (also known as our backyard), I went back to sleep.
So, I only saw the beginnings, when it was partially eclipsed, not the blood red moon.

I have to admit that I'm feeling the resultant lack of sleep, today in the office, though. :)

I also have the advantages of having a job where I can wander into work around noon every once in a while.

I think we should schedule the next lunar eclipse on a weekend.
