Alex is coming home

Alex is coming home tomorrow! I talked to the doctor and he's being discharged tomorrow evening. A part of me is extremely frightened that I am now responsible for this little person. Am afraid I will do so many things wrong. All those books I read just didn't prepare me for this. Am so frightened that he'll get sick or worse while in my care. I ( Read more... )

It's sooooo scary, but once you have him home and you can lie on your bed and have him fall asleep cuddled up on your chest, I absolutely guarantee you will cry with joy.

Congratulations, I'm sure you'll be a great mom. Those are normal first time mommy fears. Wait till he does fall asleep on you like Mynuet said. It's the most precious thing in the world.

Trsut me hon, it'll come to you. Taking care of babies is a natural instinct for women. Your body will sync with his rhythms (until you get exhausted ;D) and everything will flow - between you and him. Of course, you'll have to relearn everything else to work around him, like housekeeping, bathing, etc.
