Monday was good surf. it was SECRET SURF. i have a shit load of work in school and im starting to think that im going no where in IB. Its so hard and so pointless that i dont have the will power anymore. im trying but i feel like people arn't even trying and doing better. Its killing me. and im sure im not going to UM because even if i make it

Chris, take this advice:

Even though you're right about us not actually using Pre-Cal or Chemistry in an actual sense, you must consider that these concepts are preparing our minds to think on higher levels. In the business world, yes some math is involved, pre-cal, maybe, maybe not, but the fact is, the analytical skills you get from those types of classes will help you immensely in debating and figuring things out. You see where I'm going here?

BTW, I feel the same way about IB. But then again, it's either the IB program, or South Dade High, which, according to FCAT scores, is rated a "D"

I'm unsure about the next two years too dude, but we just gotta hang in there, swallow our fears, and just do it.

Your post rings very true....
I hope IB isn't weighing you down or making you feel like your missing out on stuff because you have so much work.
I agree with ^^^ if you're already half way there you might as well stick it out and just finish with that crap...if not for UM then just for yourself.
And don't think it's to late to get into UM....if you work hard you can pretty much get into any school you want...
I get what you mean when you say that the motivation or will power isn't there....unfortunately the smarter students in schools are a minority.
