Historically the Hyksos were frequent enemies of the ancient Egyptians thus why I have decided they make appropriate adversaries in this story. I don't know what story you're talking about so I can't comment on that. Only be assured they aren't the real villians. Any expansion on the Hyksos will be done with research done first and I will name my sources in author's notes when and if I do. Any historical errors made will be my own, will be corrected and the person who pointed them out to me thanked (as long as they give me proof and a source to verify it against). I want to be historically accurate as possible ( ... )

I have a lot of the same problems writing Yuugi that you do. I do better with more conflicted, darker, even more "evil" characters and I'm all right writing women of all personalities and types. What I think a lot of writers who write Yuugi tend to do is they make Yuugi act and speak TOO much like a woman. They "feminize" him more than he needs to be. As for the rest of what you said, I agree too. A gentle personality type is usually seen by most as being weak because men are "supposed to be" strong and manly all the time. Most don't realize being manly doesn't always have to involve being stoic and macho.
