The Up-Goer Five Very Cold Water Breaking Game

Mar 28, 2013 18:39

Here's an unofficial icebreaker type game, inspired by xkcd and also this thread.

Using the Up-Goer Five Text Editor, write a summary of your canon and post it in the comments. The catch? Just like in the original comic, the editor restricts you to only the thousand most used words in the English language, so you have to get creative ( Read more... )

It's a story about many places and the people that live there, but they're not actually human. One story is about a place where people use fire, water, rocks, and air that humans think are mean, but they're not, well some are. One place where people can do amazing things like talk to the dead and have a friend that can pass through walls . One place where people can fly and have rings above their heads, but they don't show. Then one hidden place a few people have seen.

The story is about this guy who's not really human who finds this guy who's not really human either, but doesn't remember who he is. They go looking for his memory while a lot of stuff happens around them. We meet the guy's friends and family like his dad who does things without thinking and his brother who married his friend that can talk to the dead. His friends and family has their own thing that ties in with his thing to help him figure out the guy he found.

My favourite thing is how everyone has to get around having to describe characters. Case in point - "his dad who does things without thinking." Oh Bernard.

aaahhh, I so enjoyed reading these XD Super fun idea, Rusty! For mine, I just blathered in simple English about the characters... Not having the words "choices" and "decisions" were the hardest part of it for me since making bad ones plays such a key role in my plots ;) Here we go ( ... )

haha I love the description of Mike. Also "to the point where it's almost funny. You know, in a sad way." perfect.

This makes more sense than it should. Except for Irene (angry-girl)'s part, where I couldn't figure out how to say "berserker" without implying that she killed people while on her period. Eheheh ( ... )

A girl and another girl are stuck inside a big computer place with a brain that is supposed to tell them what their lives are going to be like, but then a crazy guy hurts the computer, because he hates the old order of the world and wants to see it die. He makes the computer place become crazy and try to kill everyone inside it, so the two girls have to shut down the computer place, make the order-hating guy stop killing everyone, and stop people from becoming angry at the old order and hurting the world, even though the people have a reason to be angry ( ... )
