Now I need to walk the dogs

Jul 19, 2016 20:48

Tragically it is very very hot, and  I have drunk too much beer so my dog walking is likely to be erratic.

But I typed this post eventually with all the letters in order so I think that proves I am now sober enough to be In Charge of Hounds.

Remains to be seen if I shall make it home or go to sleep in a hedge

lurchers, dogs, beer!, things that make you go hmmm, wittering

Good luck with that! It's been hot here also for a week or two!

I made it back! I shouldn't complain about the weather really, we get more than enough rain!

What do you think the dogs would do if you went to sleep in a hedge?

I think they would go hunting rabbits. Which is in fact what they did...

But a walk takes so long when you've had a couple. Imbibe a little, and the walking is so slow, it takes so long to get home! 'Gee, that hedge sure looks comfy...'

In the end I lay on my back in a field and watched a huge cloud-dragon that spread its wings from Bodmin to Dartmoor, and then disintegrated into a cloud-archipelago floating on a sunset sea...

Until a small sharp thistle prickled me and the light faded. A huge golden moon came up. Maybe I should have just slept there.....

And awakened on the cold hillside to find that 100 years had passed? Sounds far too risky!

Hmm, good point. It's such a pain when that happens...

I know. But it was so hot! I drank the beer while I was waiting for the hot to wear off a bit.

I think, in this difficult for their master situation, the dogs could have offered some help:

Hahaha!

I feel that attempting anything like that with flighty sighthounds in steep Cornish lanes would certainly result in me ending up in a hedge :-D

Are you in charge of them, or are they in charge of you? :D Safe journey!
