Now I need to walk the dogs

Jul 19, 2016 20:48

Tragically it is very very hot, and  I have drunk too much beer so my dog walking is likely to be erratic.

But I typed this post eventually with all the letters in order so I think that proves I am now sober enough to be In Charge of Hounds.

Remains to be seen if I shall make it home or go to sleep in a hedge

lurchers, dogs, beer!, things that make you go hmmm, wittering

I think, in this difficult for their master situation, the dogs could have offered some help:

Hahaha!

I feel that attempting anything like that with flighty sighthounds in steep Cornish lanes would certainly result in me ending up in a hedge :-D

At least, I hope you are home and safe, and it hasn't come to this:

Ha! No. Sighthounds. They don't pull people out of danger. They sleep, pose decoratively, and occasionally run about at alarming speed. Those are their tasks in life!

"They don't pull people out of danger"

At least, I hope they don't pull people into...

In fact, they are very charming, especially when they get to the beach and begin to "malfucntion"...

You need a steadfast Rottweiler or something along those lines to pull your chariot whilst the sighthounds flighty about.

I note, though, that this vehicle's seat is suspiciously devoid of owner. I suspect that, despite the dogs' pose of obliging innocence, the owner is in the river.

The photo was definitely taken near the pub. The master will come out soon, very tired, and his way home will be comfortable and honourable.

The master could as well be in the river - in case he missed the seat...
