Klimaschutz / Climate change

It occurred to me a week ago that in german, people commonly speak of "Klimaschutz" or "climate protection", rather than "Klimawandel" ("climate change"). In english I normally hears "climate change", (referring to the same thing in both cases, namely, global warming). I wondered if this bias in language affected peoples' thinking. Nice idea though. Klimaschertz (= climate joke) gives no match either.

Hard stuff to research, because there are so many factors involved, but I think it's fascinating.

Have you looked into NLP (neuro-linguistic programming)? Perhaps it's old-fashioned now, but the re-framing techniques are also powerful, and they rely on how words can be used to control us. I'm sure the advertising industry and the spin-doctor industry think about all this a great deal.
