Apocalypse 001 - Antpocalypse

I've stalked a few journals with him. <3 the laconic man. bumpychampion May 18 2010, 11:17:51 UTC
No what? If you'll notice, I asked a small army of questions there.

So there are people missing? [A pause.] Or what?

I need you to tack on a few more syllables for me, there.

Welcome to Edensphere, Wolfram. My name is Fred.

I believe everyone got out and that there were no fatalities; I did not hear of anyone being killed by the ants. Please stay down here. There are people guarding the lift back up to the other parts of Edensphere, so you needn't worry about the ants attacking us.

Fred? Do I...do we know each other?

You believe, or you know? Is there someone I could talk to that's actually in charge of making sure everyone was evacuated? I'm not worried about the ants attacking us, I'm worried about the ants attacking someone that was left behind.

Loool, the last time this happened, it was the Doctor burntorangesky May 18 2010, 20:26:09 UTC
[Pen....tap] I do not know, as I do not know what you look like. However, the name 'Wolfram' does not sound familiar to me.

No fatalities or missing persons have been reported since we have evacuated here--and believe me, we take missing persons rather seriously here. As for that, the Watch and the Guard organized most of the evacuation. You may wish to speak to Bastet about it.

However [Pause] Forgive my bluntness, but you are new to Edensphere. Perhaps you should take time to settle and learn how things work here before you attempt any heroic rescues, or anything along those lines.

[He dismisses the familiarity of the word for now with no real way to explore it at the moment.]

Thanks. That's all I was looking for.

I've settled as much as I'm going to. If there are people being hunted in the Tree, I don't need to be wasting my time trying to get comfortable in Disney World. I'd be a better use up there.

Should be able to read it just fine.

Reading it isn't the problem. It's the whole 'understanding it' part that's holding me up. Is everyone present or aren't they?

Greetings, Wolfram. I am Handmaiden. As has been said, there was an organized evacuation before the bulk of the ants arrived. There are a few people who remained in the tree, as the ants did not pose a serious threat to them, but the rest of the population is safe.

What made them so special?

ice_echani May 18 2010, 20:53:17 UTC
They are not Human, are not of interest to the ants, or possess some form of strength or power that allows them to combat them without great risk. And some of did eventually come to this place regardless.

Friendlier demons, then? Or just demons scarier than giant ants?

Good evening, Mister Wolfram. My name is Black. [Formal, polite, kind. Now for some bluntless that may come off as cruel]

We left the tree over a week ago. These ants are known to be fatal. If anyone was left behind, they have either found some way to survive, or are no longer alive. I made a full circle of the tree as far as I could in time to check for remaining parties. [He felt there were no lingering souls save a few finishing up or deciding to stay. He's sure, but how to say it properly]

There is no need to endanger oneself in a rescue party.

There's a need if someone is trapped up there. The idea of someone huddled in a closet or something with big demon ants roaming around doesn't sit well with me.

Neither does it me, but if you went there as I'm sure without any memories or knowing what you can do, would you be of any use to that person?

bumpychampion May 18 2010, 21:04:02 UTC
Yeah. I would. I don't have to know who I am to drop kick a few demons [something about that phrase paused him] out of a big tree.
