The Nouklear option

Har I'm so funny. I posted this on GoS already but I'm going to spam here too, just because I haven't spammed LJ in a while :P I took a stab at Nouking a couple of hairs I've been meaning to do for a while. One is a Briher ponytail based on the Seasons ponytail, and the other is an oldish Helga hair. I haven't seen any retex or recolors of either, ( Read more... )

I love the second one, and the first would be nice if not for the back...have you tried modifying the alpha?

Thanks! I haven't really messed with the alpha yet but I was thinking about softening the ends, is that what you meant? I forgot to mention I'm going to change the band too, that hard-plastic looking texture doesn't do much for me.

I meant fill up that gap and indeed softening the tips (the way I do it is by copy pasting a decent alpha from another hair)

Well, it's going to be sort of "gappy" because I think the mesh itself is sort of in "ribbons" if that makes any sense, rather than a solid piece. I haven't looked at the mesh in Milkshape or anything but that's my guess judging on how it moves in game. Heh that was my plan for the alpha, will look through bodyshop later for some nice alphas to steal XD

I think you did a great job. The second one looks pretty great (I don't remember seeing that hair before, so many hairs I've missed out on!). I do agree with lithium_lily, have you tried alpha editing the first one?

I think the ends need to be a bit more wispy, a bit less like someone took some scissors and randomly cut it off there in chunks :P I guess that's what you mean with softening it? (agreed on the plastic hairband, now that you mention it, I hadn't actually noticed that)

Yeah that's basically what I meant, it's not quite as blunt as it looks in that picture but it could be nicer. I will have to go through Bodyshop and look at other hairs for an alpha to steal for it XD

Always fun XD Hair alphas are such a pain, I finally worked with them again for my SS gift and though most of that was just alpha shifting I had to paint some of it myself and ugh, hate it.
