I've had a bit of Freya on the mind, and she wanted me to do something, so we worked this out. Call it a break from NaNo, but here's a little something for all the Brendan/Freya lovers out there.

Freya's a comfortable character for me to slip on, for some reason, and although I usually ship Brendan/Freya, this one needed to be the kind of "just" friends that are even closer than most relationships get.

The kind of relationship I'd see those two getting as partners is the kind that results in finishing each other's sentences and talking in one-word references to whole events. In my mind, Freya exists on a delicate tripod of three relationships, the one with her sister, her doctor, and her partner.

Gah, now I'm half tempted to try to do a psych eval or something. *glares at the newly-emerged plot-bunny.* Go sit in the corner with the Thoughtcrimes/Numb3rs fic I'm not going to write yet.

They're both very early Mulder and Scully, in my mind. I remember once seeing an interview where one of the writers said he never wanted to see an explicit relationship because it would ruin the value of the little things like holding hands
