Velvet and her kittens

Will try to post pics of Velvet (black momma cat) and her kittens. Now I need some way of getting the momma cat spayed, dagnabbit. I really can't afford it. People need to get their animals fixed. She's clearly used to people, I don't know who are her humans

Are there any rescues or humane societies near you? A lot of them have services to spay animals for very little or no cost, simply because they want to help eliminate overpopulation problems.

I once emailed Alley Cat Allies, because there was a feral male coming around who would not let me approach him. I wanted to know if they had anyone in the D/FW area who could assist me in catching him and had access to a humane trap. I got an email back asking for my address and phone number.. I'm very suspicious and don't usually hand out such info. I thought that maybe they would pass my info along to an 'ally' in the area.

They sent me flyers.

So not what I asked.

I don't want to take them to the city shelter for spaying, as I've had too many co-workers whose animals got sick after being spayed/fixed at the shelter. My sister had a dog that was adopted from the shelter way back. They neutered him before sending him home with us. The poor dog got infected. I remember my parents rushing him to the vet, and my dad cleaning out the dog's wound twice a day. So now I'm really spooked about taking them to the shelter.
