Since Winter-time was a bit dead entomologically, I busied myself collecting galls from oak trees in the region. One of the first that I found were the oak apples.
We buy the same crappy plastic pots that the coleslaw people do for our general some-place-to-put-stuff-for-an-hour-or-so purposes. They were just what was laying around.
