Apartment pricing?

Hey all! I'll be moving back to Buffalo in about a month after spending three years in Oakland, CA. I've been casually perusing Craigslist looking at apartments, but I'm kind of at a loss as to what a decent place to live runs for in the area. I realize things will be significantly less expensive than out here, but when I see an ad listing a 2br ( Read more... )

I think that sounds about right...
I guess that's one good thing about the Buffalo area.. rent isn't too bad. I pay 425 for a 3 bedroom in riverside (nothing wrong with this place, even lucky enough to have an EXCELLENT landlord).. wouldn't recommend living in riverside though lol.. not a fan, just saving money to buy a house elsewhere..
maybe look on the artvoice website and see what's listed there...

Thanks for the info! Does Artvoice tend to have much that's different from what's listed on Craigslist?

I'd be lucky to get a room in an apartment with two to three other people for that price out here. $650/mo for a 2br being considered too expensive just blows my mind.

The apartments here have gotten very expensive over the past few years, esp for what you get with them. Any of the apartment complexes in the suburbs are at least 20 years old, if not older, and will easily run over $650/mo. We are in West Seneca in a 1 bedroom 550sf apartment paying $645/mo. Heat is included, but there is zero other amenities to speak of, the apartments are very very cheaply built and we are pretty confident it was built on former swampland. And this was one of the better deals we could find.

I'm hoping to live in Buffalo itself rather than a suburb, but it's good to know the price discrepancies between the two. Thanks a lot for the info!
