How about set up sort of paypal account for people to donate to this little guy? You can set up maybe a group on Facebook and have people donate ... you could also become friends with the SPCA, and Buffalo Animal Shelter on Facebook and post links to the event page and have them donate. I think you'd be surprised how willing people would be able to help you out with small donations.

I feel your pain on this one. We randomly get so many strays by my parents house, I know people just drop them off here. I've heard people talking about dropping cats off in nicer neighborhoods because people feel sorry for them and give them a place to live, it's sick. We have a three legged one around right now that we feed.

I ended up taking my garage kitty to the SPCA. Bawled my eyes out. As long as he doesn't bite, he should have a fighting chance.

My mom has been giving me the business about us taking him to the SPCA. She lives nearby and this cat was the "family" stray, and they fed him sometimes. I've kept telling her that the vet told me the costs and everything and that we just couldn't afford it-- as if I don't feel bad enough. He was around a long time, we all loved him.

But I guess now that if he's still alive (if he doesn't have any diseases they should keep him alive for a while) they're going to adopt him. Wish I would've known this before the whole ordeal!

I'm glad there are other compassionate people out there. Cats are such sweet creatures and there are so many out there who need homes and a little love. I want to start a cat sanctuary one day where any cat can be brought in and saved.

And yes, a lot of people out there are sick. If you want a stray out of your neighborhood, do the right thing. The SPCA doesn't even force a surrender fee. We donated a little money when we dropped him off yesterday, just because we support what they do.
