This isn't a major problem, but I was wondering where there are places for large groups (9)?  I have meetings for my student teaching, and we need a place that is quiet or has a seperate room where many of us can sit and relatively low cost or free to sit/squander.  Some of us will buy food, drinks, etc., but some won't.  Most of us are student ( Read more... )

Most public libraries have meeting rooms that you can reserve free of charge.

My husband teaches at UB. Surely you can get some space at the local unis around here, especially if your classes are during non-peak hours?

I used to be the Municipal Liaison for NaNoWriMo in Olympia, Wash.; we'd have get-togethers twice weekly with anywhere from 4-30 people. I found most coffeeshops with space are accommodating if you just call in advance. Same thing with maybe a nice little cafe: call ahead, make it a regular thing. If they see you every week for several weeks or months (or years) you'll become family. :)

Wegmans just seems like it might be kind of noisy... on that topic, also try meeting rooms in libraries, hotels, local government offices... just brainstorming here. Spend some quality time on the phone and you'll land a perfect place in a good location for everyone. :) GL!

Panera has a meeting room, I believe. You have to book it in advance though.

I don't understand the choice of Wegman's? Why not the one at Dick and George Urban that's only 5 minutes from Maryvale? Or the one on Transit Rd in East Amherst if you want one that's sort of closer to Lockport? Or the one at Alberta and Maple where all the UB students go to study on the 2nd floor? The Sheridan one just seems like it would be the least convenient.
