Have you considered applying for a more crafty job? You have some gorgeous yarn stores up there and since you're a people person, it would be a good mix (I think!).

That's an interesting idea Paula! Hmm. I guess the reason I've never applied is that I expect they'd want someone with a lot of experience to be able to help with knitting questions. Also do you think I'd have to have a portfolio of stuff I'd made? I've not made much :X

I applied for two jobs doing stuff with SQL which of course are corporate business type poopertunities hehe. I wish I was more awesomely business minded like you!! You've got both the business side and the crafty side down pat :)

It's ok. I'm sure I'll be fine, it's just a weird feeling. I need to get my craft on and try to get some blythe suckers, er, I mean people to buy some fine doll items from me ;) (Imagine paper towel dresses with cup cake paper hats!).

I love the flowers and your userpic looks perfect next to them. Good luck with finding a job, I know exactly what you mean about the corporate world with its stodgy jargonised language. Unfortunately, it's creeping into the education sector as well.

Thanks so much :) I'm glad you understand what I mean about the corporate world. I didn't know you worked in education, what do you do? I'm sorry that bs is creeping into that sector as well :P

I'm the course leader for a Higher National Diploma in Visual Communication and I teach photography, digital imaging (photoshop), moving image and contextual studies. Like most lecturers say, the teaching part is the good part of the job, but there's more and more admin all the time. It's the management of the admin that's becoming very bs since education started getting increasingly commercialised. I still think it's one of the best things for creative people to get into though, working with the students is mostly very enjoyable :)
