Jim and Bones go back to Riverside to visit Winona. They go out to eat, and while they're there Frank catches sight of Jim and decides to come say "hello".
I want abusive!Frank, where Jim is altogether too eager to get away from him, and Bones is watching this, not really know what's going on or who this guy is. But when Frank does/say something and Jim actually FLINCHES, Bones decides doesn't even need to know.

McCoy had his leg draped lazily over Jim's under the table. That was the first sign something was wrong. Jim tensed, so suddenly McCoy actually felt it. He glanced up from his panini and saw a man walking towards the table with a big ol' grin on his face. McCoy looked at Jim and saw the exact opposite expression displayed there

"Promise you won't go apeshit," Jim said quietly. McCoy narrowed his eyes.
"No," he said solidly. "Jim, what's going on here?" Jim blinked furiously, and inhaled shakily.
"Remember when you asked about that scar on my back?" Jim started.
"The long one across your spine? Yea," McCoy said. It was a jagged line cutting from hip to hip over his spine, as if someone had taken a knife and sliced.
"I told you I fell onto a platform when I was younger," Jim said. McCoy nodded warily. "I lied." He was silent. McCoy waited for him to continue, but suddenly everything clicked into place; the conversation between the two men, the scar, Jim flinching away from the man's touch
