I awoke this morning just after 5 AM. We were having a power outage (for no apparent reason...), and the house was very quiet. I looked out my back bedroom window and saw the brilliant full moon shining through the late summer haze over our darkened neighborhood. Wait, not quite full...there was a bit missing from the top. Strange. I stumbled

Ayup! Only a partial one was visible from Richmond, but it was pretty spectacular out here.

This one was spectacular for me because I wasn't expecting it. And since the lights were out in my neighborhood, it appeared even brighter.
