they're probably just my wishful thinking or coincidences, you know. I'm just building a paper trail so that when she has kids, I have something to torture make her feel inadequate with :):):)

No, I think she really does. Her language is really advanced for her age.

You really think so? I'm still doubtful, but who knows. She learns a lot from her older friend, I think - I've noticed the "gimme" hand gesture lately, too :) I don't get the whole idea of first children being more successful, because the seconds have someone pushing them along in terms of development so much.

Ali should be allowed in the booth with you.

The bit about Patrick and the murderer... Elections is an area of life where I don't behave rationally - it doesn't seem worth it. I am so thoroughly disgusted with Healey for using the murderer story in her campaign that it just about makes up my mind, even though I am not impressed with Patrick at all. Yeah, it was too tempting not to use that way, but still, it makes me puke.

I still don't know anything about Fargo/Martinez, so I probably won't vote in that race. Any suggestions there?

I think both the pandering to the murderer and the overrun of commercials on it is pretty disgusting, I guess it just depends which is more disgusting to you.

I'm reading up on the Fargo/Martinez race now. Fargo seems to have done a pretty good job for us locally, if you believe her website (and I'm assuming there's no call to outright lie about things easily checked). Martinez, on the other hand, is a Republican, and I feel like we need a better-balanced senate than 87% dem, especially with a Dem governor coming in. On the first hand again, Martinez doesn't have any political experience, so I'm not sure what her quals are. On the second hand again, maybe that's a good thing. I'm looking at some local paper articles to find some less biased sources on the issues.

Ech. no clear winner on the Fargo/Martinez choice for me. Some highlights, since you ask, and for bloguser-Fargo voted for the in-state tuition to illegals, but now says she is against it. Martinez is strongly against illegal immigration ( ... )

Thanks for your research!

I'm not sure it makes any sense to look at the abortion issue - it's a purely ideological, impractical matter, isn't it?

"I'd probably even vote for DuPatrick over the drunk, he only helps murderers after the fact."

So you think that trying to stand up for someone's rights, even if he is accused of a murder, is a bad thing?

mm, not accused, found guilty, and later re-proven with DNA evidence. Yes, I find knee-jerk support just cuz he's a black dude a bad thing.

Well, when the murderer in question was proved to be a murderer via DNA, Patric dropped his support, as far as I know. Am I wrong here?

Before, there was certainly a quesion of his guilt. Patric was far from he only well-known person supporting additional tests, like DNA tests.

Yes, I also find extra attension and advocacy paid to some group of people undesirable, especially if I am not included in that group (I'm white). That's why I voted for Christy Mihos.

From what i heard, the advocating continued after the DNA test, and that's what the uproar, if you can call it that, is really about.

Really, you're white?? I thought you were Semitic!
Seriously, supporting a murderer when there's no question of guilt, or while guilt is asssumed pending DNA evidence is an example of why the NAACP is not working in minority interests anymore.

The appeal of "DuPatrick" can be summed up in three words.

1) Democrat
2 & 3) Not Healey
