Many of you will recall everything my poor spouse has been through with his computers in the past few months. With the exception of the case, I swear both have been rebuilt -- new chips, motherboards, etc

I did a whole lot of research on this when Amythyst's iPod had problems too....wish I still had all the links and stuff. But one thing I remember was there was an unofficial fix for some problems like you're describing that (believe it or not) involved slapping the iPod against a table or other hard surface in a specific way. (It worked temporarily on Amythyst's old iPod...but hers was an early generation and the drive was going, so it didn't stay fixed.)

What I'm saying is you should google around if you have time. You might not need a new one.

You can buy stickers that are like a face plate for your ipod. I have pink hearts on mine, and I love it :)

There are some pretty good covers and skins that are pink, if you don't hate using them. I have a soft pink one for my blue iPod, so's I don't destroy it in my bag.
