I was reminded, when the hub-bub about Google Buzz started (particularly, the ways in which it ignored personal privacy), how happy I am to avoid Google services for private information. I was thinking about you this morning, and wondering how you were. I saw you on AIM once last week and wished I'd at least said, "Howdy" despite knowing that I didn't have time to, just because I didn't know when I'd see you again.

I discovered similar joy when I found I could run my own freeware iDisk for OSX. Of course I've no time for the implementation phase, and since Win7 I've cut back on my OSX usage. But when I'm ready - it'll be there.

Gee, I thought I was the only one who didn't look at Google's apps and squeal with joy... Dunno what it is about Google, but everyone seems so eager to bend over backwards and give them everything they want while being completely blind of the privacy issues.

My work (4,500 employees, $800M revenue) is even thinking about using Google apps for its internal documents, email, etc. scaaary!
