Seriously, cute Asian girls have bizarre powers of outfit-pulling-off. I know it's an ethnic stereotype but I've seen it happen again and again.

Actually, you have a point there I think. I do a couple of shifts a week in a pub to earn some extra cash in the evenings and we get lots of cute Asian girls wearing really weird outfits that somehow work...

she does go there in the book, but its just mentioned in passing. she went out with another guy to the movies and he spent a long time at the arcade.

when i was 13, i felt even worse than Claudia in this book. she may not have a boyfriend, but at least she went on dates with multiple good-looking guys and kissed a few. when i was 13, i had *never* been on a date, let alone kissed anyone. so reading this book made me feel pretty crappy, and reading about MA and Logan's long-term, loving relationship made me feel even worse. i totally blame the BSC for completely distorting my perception of relationships for so long.

ITA. At thirteen I was the only girl in my class who didn't have some kind of "boyfriend" and hadn't been pashed (hey, it was a small country primary school, what else were we to do) and I remember thinking the same thing about Claudia - "at least you've HAD guys after you!"
