Claudia looks like she's doing some weird Ballet pose. She's evidently at a video games arcade. I know Little Orphan Annie wanted to go there in the book, but it never happened! She looks like she's dressed as a Halloween Bat with a pink

when i was 13, i felt even worse than Claudia in this book. she may not have a boyfriend, but at least she went on dates with multiple good-looking guys and kissed a few. when i was 13, i had *never* been on a date, let alone kissed anyone. so reading this book made me feel pretty crappy, and reading about MA and Logan's long-term, loving relationship made me feel even worse. i totally blame the BSC for completely distorting my perception of relationships for so long.

ITA. At thirteen I was the only girl in my class who didn't have some kind of "boyfriend" and hadn't been pashed (hey, it was a small country primary school, what else were we to do) and I remember thinking the same thing about Claudia - "at least you've HAD guys after you!"
