Hi! I love the Tillerman's saga! It was an awesome book series! I agree that it was more convincing than Stacey and the Mystery at the Mall. Have you ever read Secrets of the Shopping Mall?

I've worked at a day care, and filing cabinets are indeed the best of friends. There is SO much paperwork involved in registering children it's not even funny. And NATURALLY there are health regulations; does Kirsty not realize how FAST things like Thrush, or lice can spread in a daycare? It's a NIGHTMARE.

And then there's child-to-teacher ratios. 6-1 for toddlers, 10-1 for preschoolers, and grade school was.... I think 15-1. (I was in the toddler room, I almost never worked with the preschoolers until I was almost done working there.) Mixed groups are a NIGHTMARE.

It was 15-1 for grade schoolers when I taught for a brief stint. Irritating on the playground, when two classes combined and two teachers were there but neither of us could take a bathroom break anyway.

Love the snark!

Charlie compliments Logan’s tie (?) and Logan blushes (??)-is he developing another homoerotic crush?

Logan wonders if it’s the same guy who broke into Casa Grande to cook burritos-not to take money, just to cook burritos.

As much as Logan acts like a passive-aggressive freak at times, I've always pictured him as that dumb puppy that acts tough and barks and growls at bigger dogs with no awareness of how outclassed and unimpressive he actually is. That's just the general impression of him I get from the books.

You're right; the stuff about the kids being "scruffy" and "grubby" was uncomfortable, and I'm not sure how I feel about the BSC "saving" them.

This plot was so confusing with all of the new characters and the sudden memories of events the audience never saw. God, it's lazy when writers don't show events in a certain scene but then have characters suddenly remember them when the mystery is wrapping up. It always makes me feel like I missed a section of the book.

to the point that Stacey freaks out and ( ... )

Perhaps she wanted the insulin kit to commit ritual suicide should the meeting go poorly? That's all I can think of.

The saga of the kids at the mall could work if it was written more like the Japanese movie Nobody Knows. In that movie, the mother takes off, leaving her four children to fend for themselves. Thing is they established why they wouldn't seek out social services because the kids fear being separated and given their upbringing, they haven't been raised to trust adults. But the way Ann tells it...no, just no. Mr. Morton should be in jail for having not called social services.

tl;dr: Watch Nobody Knows. Ignore this book.
