Welcome Back, Stacey!

I know its been done before, but I was home sick the day I started this one, and nothing warms the cockles of one’s heart more than snarking, whatever the subject matter.  I spent large quantities of my day lying around, catching up on some great snarks on here, which served as my muse.  Hope it’s not too random, I got some ( Read more... )

Oh my God, that outfit! Stacey, you're diabetic not colorblind. I'm tempted to draw it to fully realise its hideousness but at the same time I'm worried it might break me.

And when she adds the jean jacket, I actually became concerned that she was so top heavy with that and the sweatshirt that she might topple over. Wooden fruit= NYC suffistikation.

I can't read this because I have a black background, do you think you could remove the color code for any font that's black? Thank you.

It honeslty made me crave them. Perhaps Stacey is channeling her sugar cravings into her outfit choices.

I love you for the ZZ Ziff reference alone. Also, loling forever at "dressed like a walking pack of Runts"!

Ah, the good old days when Nick had the BEST shows ever. I could talk for hours about the awesomeness of such classics as Hey Dude, Clarissa, and Pete and Pete :)

I'm glad Teen Nick has the classic block. I can at least watch Doug when it comes on. Just wish they played Salute Your Shorts and Are You Afraid of the Dark? more. Those three were/are my top favorites.

“I guess another thing you should know about the Walkers is that they are black.”
I'm glad you warned us, Stacey, otherwise we might have taken a loaf of banana bread to the apartment of some of THOSE people. Does Ann seriously not realise how that sounds? (And believe me, you're not the only one who spittaked at that following sentence. There's a whole thread about it here.)

Seriously. And as people in that thread pointed out... she notices that in NYC? That place flows with diversity. Are we sure AMM really lived there, and not just in one of the suburbs (which sometimes are pretty white)?

I don't know how nobody ever pointed out that if AMM just wrote in black characters, she'd make a much better point about tolerance. Because when you keep emphasizing that someone's black (or white or Korean or Irish or whatever), you're showing that it must matter, not that it doesn't matter.

Exactly! I went to school in Charlotte NC, which is only the 17th largest city in the US, and there was every kind of nationality and ethnicity possible. Why, Ann? Why?

Yeah. Just say it! "The Walkers are a black family" doesn't have the same scandalized tone as "you should know." Should I? Shouldn't I? I guess it helps to let me know since most of us default to imagining white people, just just be factual instead of making it a scandal. Geez.
