Part 1

Also, I know Hayes doesn’t know this, but Mallory’s checking out her books from the library, so she isn’t getting Mallory’s money.
Holy crap, I didn't think of that. That makes Mallory's entitlement all the worse. I do not like seeing one of the members I most identify with being this obnoxious so I'm going to say that it's a combination of the Cult and Henny's stalkery books rubbing off on her. Maybe the brain cells that previously held the definition of "fiction" were fried during one of the Cult's brainwashing rituals. Reaching, I know, but hey, it's more of an explanation than the ghostwriter gave for why an aspiring author who wrote about anthropomorphic mice suddenly forgot what fiction is.

In the latest book she marches right into a big shot producer’s office and demands a role. Instead of telling her to get the fuck out and have security toss her from the building, he gives her a lead role.
Can anyone verify whether this trope has any basis in reality? Either way, I feel for the people who work in those jobs.

Madonna, maybe? I remember when I was that age reading about how she rolled up to an audition stupidly late, bummed money off the studio people to pay for her cab and then demanded takeout or something - and they hired her because divas are talented. I don't know if the story is true but it certainly made the rounds of the teen magazines.

Part 2

She wants to know how she can help her family even though she’s sick. When I’m sick helping my family is the last thing on my mind.
Come to think of it, the Cult did make her do a whole lot of work for their latest event even though she had an illness that made her constantly tired, and the only time she said no, she was lying in a purposeful attempt to get kicked out of the Cult because she thought that since she was of no use to them, she didn't deserve to be a member.

Charlotte protests at reading Delaware’s part because Delaware is six, so that’s a baby part. Charlotte wants to work on the costumes instead of playing Delaware.
JESUS, ghostwriter. I'm sure Charlotte would rather work on costumes, but that probably has more to do with the crippling shyness that is her ONE personality trait and is taken up to "why isn't this kid in therapy?" levels.

Stacey suggests that Mallory write about other people, but Mallory says that would be a big lie.
So biographies are a lie now too?! Holy mother of Ceiling Cat, someone get her ( ... )

If I ever find myself in the hospital for an extended period of time - or at all, for that matter - I am seriously going to make a sign for my door saying "No crappy-ass plays by baby-sitters clubs. Any baby-sitters clubs who want me to watch their kids' crappy plays must submit a page-long proposal. This means you, Kristy Thomas!" I would include a picture of the Cult and a bunch of their charges in a crossed-out circle and have the address of this comm underneath. It'd be fun to watch the reactions of doctors, nurses and other patients, especially those who read the BSC too. :D

This made me lmao. I adore your comments.

Mallory dismisses fantasies and assumes that even fantasy writers have elements of their lives in their books. How the hell can someone be so stupid?
Then AMM is a pedophile. Pure and simple.

What book are you basing that on? I am intrigued...

LOL, as in most of my writing, I have no fact based elements to go on. I suppose I just go with the intuitive "no one should need to involve small children in EVERY aspect of their lives" feeling, but that is just good natured jest and exaggerated humor.

The part when Mallory accuses Hayes of her books being lies and Hayes being all "WTF, girl?! Go look up the word "fiction" in a dictionary!" is just around the corner! *bounces* Thank heaven Hayes doesn't pull a Mary Anne and apologises for countering Mallory's accusation about her books being lies when Mallory apologises for saying that about her books.
