Chance cards that read "Need new push-down socks. Pay $10." *snerk*
I absolutely love how Mal and Jessi are all OMG THE KIDS JUST WENT OFF AND PLAYED BY THEMSELVES!!!!! WHY CAN'T IT BE LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME?!?! As Sailor Moon put it in Sailor Moon Abridged, "Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The role of a cocksure, sophomoric boy who leads his cadre of sycophants through a world with no adults and no rules, who literally crows and at one point sings "Conceited? Not me! It's just that I am what I am . . . and I'm me!"? Who exactly did they think was a better fit for-
Oh. Kristy. Yeah, that was a tough call. Probably just flipped a coin in the end.HA! I love you

I just went and listened to some versions on YouTube, figuring maybe there's something about the tune that would make it easy to slip and say "tie" instead. There isn't.
It went right over my head because I never watched ST, but it wouldn't be the first time the books messed up a reference.
I love how in the audition, one girl did the "Vitameatavegamin" routine from I Love Lucy (never saw it) and must have gotten it right, yet Justine missed something from a much newer show.
I might have to play with this. The make-your-own-opoly kit has pretty bad reviews, but I could just get cardstock and sticker paper and make my own from an old Monopoly board.
The Chance cards would be fun to write. And the tokens, maybe polymer clay.
This could work.
Only problem is what the hell I'd do with it once I had it.
It annoys me that worlds best baby-sitter thinks any form of bullying is justified, in this case- that the teacher deserved the rude and inappropriate behaviour of 11 year olds because of what he wears or how he looks. Honestly, it's no wonder Karen judges everyone on appearance.
This upset me and broke my heart for the teacher. I hate bullying and to me, it is never okay. If someone is different, let them be as long as they are not hurting anyone.
I know I wrote this in my head, I picture somebody like Mr. Trout being picked on even as a kid. I pointed that out in one of my replies about him reading/bringing a book with him. Maybe he realized at a young age that people pretty much suck and he prefers books to interacting with people?
Yeah, I mean, I'm not excusing Mr Trout's lack of classroom control and general inability to teach (I'm pretty sure I remember that even when he was able to get a sentence out, it went right over Jessi's head, whereas Mr Bellafatto explained it in a way that she could understand) but AGAIN with Ann telling kids that it's OK to mock people for their physical appearance.
and Kristy insists that Mr. Trout brought this on himself.--*sighs* Nice victim blaming, Kristy!
and I get that kids don't understand that some people are so sensitive that you really need to refrain from teasing them even as a show of camaraderie.--If Mr. Trout's students respected him in class and this was the only time he'd be parodied, I can see him being okay with it. But man, he's shit on all the time and to be parodied in the show was probably like rubbing salt on the wound.
