If I must make a call, I'll put the phone on speaker since that counts as hands-free and is legal, and yes, it's legal to DIAL a phone number in all 50 states, just not text or talk while holding onto one in many.

yeah it's illegal in Ontario to used handheld devices while operating the motor vehicle. You can use your cell phone as hands free but I am pretty sure you can be charged if they catch you dialing it because it can be considered texting, so nope no handheld devices while driving... I do have on star in my car and could have used that to call, but I hated my supervisor and she didnt know i had on star.

You mentioned your school had lockers, and as far as I'm aware, my school didn't. They locked the bathrooms in high school to stop kids from smoking, I think. So that meant if I had to use the bathroom during the six minutes I had to get to another class, I'd have to use one on the other side of school.
