You know what I love about Alan Gray? You know he doesn't give a crap about school spirit, he's just taking the opportunity to be an ass. He was probably planning on lobbing Dawn with the water balloon before she even came in with the petition. I'm surprised Cokie Mason isn't being pointedly pro-School Spirit just because Dawn's so vocally against it.
Geez, how hard would it have been for the faculty to make an announcement saying that school spirit events are not mandatory, and students harassing each other for participating or not participating with be punished?
There are only half a dozen fat people in Stoneybrook. Everyone is supposed to be athletes or have speed-of-light metabolisms. I can't blame Dawn for not knowing to react when she sees one. We're alien creatures, you know.
Ah food fights. I was part of one once. That is, I grabbed my tray, put it over my head and ran towards the stairwell thingie in our cafeteria because there was no way I was getting covered in gravy for the rest of the school day. After this, the entire grade was punished by having assigned tables forever. I can't even remember how the hell they enforced this but it was a fairly small school in the middle of a cornfield, not apparently like SMS.
I have fond memories of "syzygy" because when I was a kid I had one of those toy computers where you put in a word, press enter and give it to someone else to guess what you wrote, and if you get more than 10 letters wrong you lose, kind of like an electronic hangman. When my dad noticed that I always started with the vowels, he wrote "syzygy" to fuck with me. XD
I can't think of any other words I like in English at the moment, but my current favourite word in Japanese is "kyoudou unkou bin" (codeshare flight) because if you pronounce the "unkou" part wrong it becomes "shitshare flight". I also like the word "kouchi shuushoku" (grammatical term referring to clauses that start with "who" or "that" or "which", eg "Dawn is a girl who likes to squawk about things that really aren't that big a deal" or "Mary Anne has issues that she really should see a therapist about") because it reminds me of this one teacher I worked with who I liked.
