I have a hard time telling which team is which and am usually a little otherwise lost at Baseball games. However, I remember Crying reading your post about the King (uh, this is the same guy, right?) and this entry here is also just simply one of the most Delightful descriptions of fannish enthusiasm <3. &fandom of all kinds;
Awww. Yes, that is the same guy! I'm so glad you enjoyed the post even though you're not a baseball fan specifically. &fandom of all kinds; indeed! (Actually the guy who writes my favorite Mariners blog came to a similar conclusion recently, which I really appreciated. I am a huge proponent of a wide definition of fandom and it's always fun to see other people come to that same place!)
Felix IS the greatest! I am so glad he's sticking around because that permanent state of 'when's the other shoe gonna drop' is no fun to live with. ALL HAIL, KING FELIX!
This is an adorable post, and it gave me vicarious feels, which is pretty amazing because I hate baseball now, and I especially loathe the Mariners for many, many reasons. But this made me feel like I was a fan. And hey, didn't he pitch that perfect game last year? That was pretty amazing. Back when I was into baseball as a kid, i don't think there was a perfect game the entire time I was a fan.
