Plus, of course, the many inevitable fragments.

I still haven't written up my concert report for Jeffrey Foucault/Peter Mulvey, because honestly, no one cares but me, but I will say at least that by about ten minutes into that show, I was glowingly, transcendently happy. Due in part to the Jack and Coke I was drinking, admittedly, but due mostly to the reflected glow of the warmth and charm and ( Read more... )

So: Wednesday, Redbird will be playing Glam Rock tunes, Thursday is Peruvian flute music, and both Friday and Saturday will be mime. Please hold your applause until Sunday.

Hee! Awesome.

And this is the one you sent me the link to before yes? And now I must admit publicly that I didn't get to it--I think I was on my way to or perhaps in Hawaii? *hangs head* Fail, Sal. I shall check iTunes.

I care about your JF/PM concert report! Hee.

Isn't LFAFM amazing? I'm glad that's the one they pointed out.

My sister slipped three Kris Delmhorst albums onto her latest pimping flashdrive, and I am thoroughly attatched. Also, one Peter Mulvey (Rapture). Methinks I need some exposure to Mr Foucault, now, and would appreciate your recommendations.

Also, this post is delightful. &hearts

Oooh, yes, Jeffrey Foucault is my faaaaaaavorite. (I love all three of them, but his lyrics are a level above pretty much everyone going right now, in my opinion.) His website is here, and he's got several downloadable tracks on each album--I'd recommend starting with anything from Miles From the Lighting, Stripping Cane, or Ghost Repeater, or the Outtakes/Live Cuts section. (His past few albums have all been collaborations/cover albums, and I like them, but not as well as I like his solo stuff. He's got a new solo album coming out in March, which I'm REALLY excited about.) I can also provide additional stuff if you're interested ( ... )

Cool! I will check him out.

And it's lovely to hear things like that, even though I'm usually not fannish about performers (or actors either, so explain my obsession with the wolf-pack of two to me, plsthx. /rhetorical), but hearing nice stuff like that is just delightful. I don't have a lot of time for the flash and show of AI et al, I admit, but nice people making good music just makes me feel warm about humanity.

♥ I've seen Jeff Foucault once in concert, and it KILLS me that I don't live anywhere near where he usually tours now.

I KNOW. He and KD play in Massachusetts a lot now, since they live there, and I'm so jealous that my brother lives so close and yet can rarely go to the shows. Sadness!

one cover (of The Church's "Under the Milky Way," which is goooorgeous)

WANT. I love that song.

(And I care about your concert report, (1) because you write awesome concert reports and (2) because anything that makes you transcendently happy is something I want to read.)

It's SO good. (I haven't forgotten that I owe you a mix, BTW! I just need some time in front of my home computer, which has been pretty rare of late. But I haven't forgotten!)

And aww. I just feel like concert reports are so often you-had-to-be-there kinds of things, but thank you for being interested. ♥

Hah. I had sort of forgotten, so I was not saying "WANT" as a hint - just an instinctive reaction. Please do not put a mix for me on your list, doubtless already far too long, of "things I have to worry about getting done before the winter holidays land on my head like a really festive avalanche." I am perfectly happy to wait, seriously.

Oh, I think they are you-had-to-be-there kinds of things. But they can also be enjoyable to read - vicarious experiences FTW, at least some of them :-). And I am honestly not much of a concertgoer - combination of bad performance jealousy (I miss it hugely sometimes) and getting peopled out VERY quickly by crowds - so reading a concert report by someone who (1) writes well and (2) loves music is usually a fine simulacrum for me for actualfax attendance.
