Hello internets! rogairedubh and his gf are in town for a few days, and I had yesterday off for gallivanting, which was moderately successful (except for Hurricane Ridge being closed and the restaurant we wanted to eat at for dinner having a 45-minute wait, which, given that it was 8 p.m. by the time we got there and I had to work today, was not happening

also? you'll be pleased to know that i've watched the special features and the PERVY interpretation was the EXACT reason that scene was removed from the original cut of the film. coppola was like, "well, there were...titters. they're two very attractive boys, and rob lowe is so pretty he's almost androgynous, and, well..."

omg, I was watching the clips with the sound off? And I sort of moved the cursor through the scene to be sure the whole thing was there and that it was what brynn wanted, and I had to stop and rewind and watch that bit in regular motion because I SWORE that he actually made out with his brother there. It does not get much less gay in regular motion, fyi.

I've only seen a few dances from SYTYCD Canada, but I am obsessed with the US version. The rest of my flist is all excited about American Idol returning, and I'm only excited because that means SYTYCD season is just that much sooner. Maybe I should watch the Canadian version to tide me over. Hmm. (Although from the clips I have seen, let's just say - the hostess, she's no Cat Deeley. Who is the most awesome person ever.)

Honestly, the can't-wait-till-summer thing is a big part of why I was so eager to get hold of the Canadian season (also because troyswann was very persuasive, hee). And it was totally, totally worthwhile--I honestly think it kicked the ass of S4 of the US version, both in terms of overall quality of the choreography and in the personalities of the dancers. It still seems like forever till the next season, but it was an excellent way to pass the time!

Also, yes, Leah Miller is no Cat Deeley, but she REALLY grew on me over the course of the show. She's got a very cheerleader-y voice, and that's annoying, but she is INCREDIBLY sweet and she's DISTRAUGHT when the dancers have to go home--I swear she's going to need therapy if she keeps doing this. Hee. So I like her a lot more than I thought I was going to. But still, Cat kind of wins everything.

You are making a good case! Because, like, I liked S4, and it was the first season I watched live, but I don't think it was as good as S3 on the whole.

I love hosts who actually care about the contestants and get excited when they do well or sad when they leave, etc. I'm sure Leah is sweet. It isn't her fault that she's not ten feet tall and British.

ITA. I loved Courtney and Gev, and Joshua was really cool, and Will was an AMAZING dancer, and Katee was a great dancer, and so was Chelsea, and Mark was really awesome in his own unique way. But some of the other dancers were so painfully not-good, and some of the choreography was bad and/or boring, and I didn't love any of the dancers like I loved Sara or Pasha, or even Sabra or Dom or Neil or Anya. I was really happy to pay $50 to see the S3 tour; I never even thought about it for S4. Like you said, it just wasn't the same.

I'm going to the Canada tour, though, and I can't WAIT. Srsly, you should snag the eps. Guaranteed glee! (And HOTNESS. Wow. So much hotness. Of both sexes!)

The OUTSIDERS! I got that when it came out on DVD, and honestly, I mean, I read that 80 times as a teenager, and DID NOT SLASH PONY AND SODA, but - when you watch the movie, THEY KIND OF WANT YOU TO A LOT. Right?
