I put this together for
china_shop's Wrap Party on Friday, but I thought I'd re-post it here in case anyone (by which I mainly mean
troyswann) was interested. China requested that I compile a list of Ten Reasons That Hugh Rush Dillon Is Cool. As you might imagine, I had trouble paring the list down to just eleven ten, but here are some highlights, in no particular

yeah.
i am sadly predictable!)
we have an RPS fandom in which we do not need to invent a lumberjack AU because it is (sweaty, manly, stubbly, no doubt plaid-shirted) CANON. i think we win!

Um, YES. WE SO WIN.
And had you not seen/heard #3 before? Or are you just "hee"-ing over again? It's HYSTERICAL, dude. Also he is incredibly nice to the fan he calls in London, with the teasing her yet also putting her at her ease. God. I just. *flails*

Also, in looking for a review, I found this interview with the guys from Trailer Park Boys, and in the comments below is this: "I won't be seeing the movie as my wife doesn't care for sloveny characters. I will watch it when it comes on TV for the reason that an actor in the movie is my wife's niece's husband, Hugh Dillon. He takes character roles. He is also a fine musician...wirting his own songs and has produced some CDs."
HEE. How cute is THAT?
This is also a cute interview with Hugh I hadn't seen before.

Also, thank you. *toes the dirt and blushes*
Claudia Black is AWESOME. It completely confused me when I found out she was Australian though, 'cos I always thought she was one of ours.

And YAY for your AU! :)
And yes! I was surprised to find out Claudia was Australian, too. I think she might have actually spent some time in Britain growing up or something? Because, yeah, her accent is definitely mixed.

Claudia Black's grandmother was an Englishwoman of the more rigid sort, and insisted that CB speak "properly=" no Strine at home. There was a con q&a in 2001 where she talked about it, that was covered on Kansas (I think, it's been a long time and I was lurking at all the Scaper boards).
Have you seen her in Hercules: the Legendary Journeys where she plays Cassandra with a Jersey Girl/Queens accent? She's adorably hilarious.
ETA: I was cruising the comments for more links, and missed the reason CB showed up in this thread at all. My beta went to D*Con last year and stood in line to get me CB and Lani Tupu's autographs on photos; Claudia's is just a sig (I think JCB was "managing" her) but the Lani Tupu one is personalized. I am so very lucky.
Julia, Claudia is a goddess...

*maracas, semi-nihilistically*
and no, it's not just that I like the idea of anything being "semi"-nihilistic. Not at all.
Also, don't forget on the painting front, the Warchild Christmas card over at Warchild Canada. :)
I approve of you and your listing ways.

And did we ever determine that those cards were from THE Hugh Dillon? I'd be totally willing to believe it, but I just wondered if you had ever dug up any more info. Maybe there are Sekkrit Canadian Things that Americans aren't allowed to know, you know?
Also, I keep meaning to tell you, I am (still!) working my way through Hard Core Roadshow and every time they mention Danny Salerno, I get this little shiver. Also also, one of the fictional song names they came up with for HCL's discography was "Twitch City." So, is that a thing? I tried doing a Google search yesterday and couldn't come up with anything that wasn't related to the show. But I'm curious if that's an actual expression/reference or just some weird thing from Bruce's fructful brain.

And I have no intel regarding Twitch City. I suspect it is Bruce's Brain that is to Blame, for lo, inside there it must be kinda twitchy, no?
I kinda suck as your Canadian agent, I'm afraid.
