And there were times when you had to make your final choice, although you didn’t want to but the condition forced you too while you might regret it, forever...

--Back to three years ago...--
Tegoshi Yuya was an unfortunate child who lost his parents when he was still 7. Tegoshi family was quite a well known family during that time and they ran a garment business. But little did the small Yuya know that his parents, or actually his father, were involved with some 'underground' business which might lead into some complicated matter later.
It was late at night before the little boy's 7th birthday anniversary when he was awaken because of some noises outside. As a little boy he was, Yuya decided to open the door of his room to take a peek of what was happening outside. He, at that time, thought that his parents was preparing his birthday present so with that innocent thought in mind he walked through the corridors of his big house. But all he found was an endless silence. Suddenly the sound of his mother's scream was heard before it turned into another endless silence.
Little Yuya knew that he had to return back to his room immediately and locked it properly before continuing his dreams while kept hoping that it was just one of the prank his parents played to surprise him. Unfortunately it seemed like his wish didn't come true...
When he woke up the next day there were lots of noises again. Little Yuya opened his door excitedly since he thought that he would be able to meet his parents, throwing a surprised party for him, but all he saw was some unknown men wearing the same clothes, or rather uniforms, all around the house, who he knew later as police men. One of them saw little Yuya and approached him and when Yuya asked him where his parents were, he was informed that his parents had gone away, forever, to a place that the little Yuya wouldn't be able to reach.
'Why did they go away, uncle?" Yuya asked again but he got no answer at all. But he was not a stupid boy. Despite his young age, Yuya was good at understanding some difficult conversation. He walked away when the 'uncle' was called by another 'uncle' until he reached a certain place he knew as his father's library. But what he saw was a shed of unswept blood on the floor and two 'things' covered with white cloths. One of the 'uncles' noticed that there was a little boy in sight and so he brought the small boy, who didn't really understand what was happening while tears had started coming out from both of his eyes out of his consciousness, away.
It was until an hour later when another 'uncle' wearing a fine black suit with some other 'uncles' behind him came and approached small Yuya. His name was Nishikido and he said that he's Tegoshi dad's best friend. That uncle Nishikido told small Yuya that from that day on he would be living in Nishikido's households. He also told Yuya that he had a son three years older than Yuya but he was sure that they could be friends.
The last sight small Yuya saw before leaving Tegoshi's mansion was the rain pouring hard. Rain... And that day was the start of his live in Nishikido's mansion...

It had been almost 14 years since the eventful night also since Tegoshi lived in Nishikido's households. He grew up inside this mansion and befriended uncle Nishikido's son, Nishikido Ryo, or even there was a special feeling he felt with this Nishikido Ryo although Tegoshi didn't know what kind of feeling he had at the son of his saviour. Right, saviour. The grown up Tegoshi had known the truth beneath what had happened years ago. His parents were killed brutally by one of the 'underground' boss because of the 'mistake' his father made. Indeed Tegoshi was feeling curious of what kind of mistake his father had possibly made, but he didn't wish to know deeper about it or he would just burden Nishikido's family even more. Tegoshi knew well that the one he would face if he decided to investigate his parents' death further would be with the 'underground' people and they were dangerous.
... Not that Tegoshi was leading a peaceful life himself. Nishikido family had a great power in the 'underground' world too. Tegoshi had seen how brutal the world is since he was small and he couldn't protest it at all. It was not his place to speak up after all...
Growing up in that kind of situation didn't make Tegoshi regret it at all. In fact he was so grateful that uncle Nishikido brought him up and pampered him as if he was his own son. Uncle Nishikido even sent him to University, not to mention the elite one. While being a part of this kind of family taught Tegoshi the real truth of this world, which was not as sweet as people thought. Unconsciously, Tegoshi had been dragged into this harsh world.
That was why Tegoshi was so sad when uncle Nishikido passed away a few months ago, leaving him and the last Nishikido there together. Nishikido Ryo took over both of his father's hotel business and the underground business while Tegoshi was still there, beside him. Tegoshi could just leave Nishikido alone if he wanted to, given that uncle Nishikido also told him to lead a clean life and gave him a big amount of money for his living, but he just couldn't. His feeling to Nishikido Ryo bounded him to stay by his side and perhaps he himself had gone too deep to the 'dark' world to even escape from it.
And now was the start of another new day and the start of the routines he usually went through every day. He stepped out of his room and proceeded to the mansion's library when one of the maids told him that Nishikido wished to meet him. Perhaps he had a 'job' Tegoshi had to do. It had happened quite lots of time, even when they were still small. Nishikido tend to ask Tegoshi to do some chores for him while his late father knew nothing about it as Tegoshi always made sure that he kept his mouth shut. Tegoshi knew that Nishikido might only be but he didn't mind it too much. As long as he could still stay by his side then he didn't care about the small matters...
"What did you want, Ryo?" Tegoshi asked when he was finally inside the room.
Nishikido was in the middle of reading a magazine when Tegoshi questioned him. He opened his drawer and took a pack of something, which turned out to be some photos. Tegoshi tilted his eyebrow a bit before looking at the photos which were now scattering around the table.
"I think I have seen that face before..." Tegoshi murmured when he saw the face which was there in every photos.
"Yamashita Tomohisa. He is studying at the same University as you do. Two years older, business."
"And what exactly do you want me to do? Spying on him?" Tegoshi questioned.
"Spying is a rude word. Let's see, just keep an eye of him? It'll be much better if you are his friend though." Nishikido replied with a smirk.
Being the usual obedient boy he was, Tegoshi took the photos and a sheet of paper beside it, which turned out to be some information about that Yamashita guy, before going outside the room, leaving Nishikido alone...

Waseda University was as lively as usual where students were gathering all around to study. Tegoshi went to that university even though he was not supposed to have any class to attend today, but for the sake of the job Nishikido gave him. In fact, he was a bit curious of why the hell Nishikido was interested in this guy called Yamashita. The file Tegoshi had didn't give much information except for his name, major, address, and other typical information which meant that Tegoshi would have to look for more information about that Yamashita guy himself. Thank god that he had this innocent look which had helped him a lot in gathering information but this look of his would be useless if he didn't find anyone useful. Therefore he decided to follow that Yamashita around until he got any brilliant idea.
After looking around the university, with using his innocent look a bit, Tegoshi finally found Yamashita sitting at the canteen with another two friends of him. From the little information he had managed to gather, it seemed like Yamashita's father had a hotel too. If that was the case then Tegoshi had some ideas why Nishikido wanted him to spy on Yamashita a bit. Well but it was still too strange that Nishikido asked him to do this kind of job, not the men he had. But it was not his place to question this so all Tegoshi could do was to keep his eyes over this Yamashita until Nishikido would finally be satisfied with his work.
"Tegoshi!" a voice was heard from behind when Tegoshi was sitting at the canteen, eyeing that Yamashita.
"Massu! You've startled me."
"Sorry about that. Anyway, what are you doing here? It's Thursday... I thought you have no class at all on Thursday." Massu or actually Masuda Takahisa questioned.
"Well yeah, I need to submit something." Tegoshi answered with a weak smile. For a second he thought that someone caught him eyeing Yamashita and he was glad when it was just Masuda, his friend. Masuda was a year older than him but he skipped a year because of some things, therefore he attended the same year as Tegoshi did, moreover the same major, human environmental.
"I see... Ah, Koyama!" Masuda suddenly said while waving his hand to someone at Yamashita's place direction and when Tegoshi turned around to see who it was, the guy Masuda called was actually one of the guy sitting together with Yamashita. Oh my...
"Massu!" that Koyama guy greeted back when he approached Tegoshi's table. "What are you doing here? And, your friend?"
"Hai! This is Tegoshi, Tegoshi Yuya. Tegoshi, this guy is Koyama Keiichirou, my senior at high school."
"Ah, Tegoshi desu." Tegoshi said while giving a light bow and that was when he saw Yamashita with his other friend stood up and left their table. "I-I'm sorry, I suddenly remember that I have to do something. Nice to meet you Koyama - senpai."
"Just Koyama is fine, Tegoshi - kun. Have a nice day." Koyama said.
Tegoshi gave his last bow before trying to go away but he didn't pay attention to his surrounding and bumped into someone. He fell down to the floor and suddenly he a bit cold around his shirt and when he opened his eyes his shirt was now wet because of some kind of yellow coloured liquid.
"I'm so sorry..." the voice of a guy who should be the one who bumped into Tegoshi and spilled his drink was heard, apologizing and when Tegoshi was even able to see who it was, the Koyama guy had started saying something.
"Yamapi, Toma. Ah, are you alright Tegoshi - kun? Eh, Pi, you spilled your drink!"
"Owh right, I'm sorry about that, eh, Tegoshi? What should I do now?" the guy, who turned out to be the Yamashita himself spoke which surprised Tegoshi a lot. He thought he was so unlucky with bumping into someone but when that someone was the one he was following around, it became a fortunate thing, right?
"Ah, it's alright. I am sorry but I'll have to take my leave now." Tegoshi said while giving his sweetest smile before going away, leaving the other four guys while thinking of another thing to advance with his plan. That was such a big chance for him but he had lots of time to do it so there was no need to rush around with things. What Tegoshi didn't know what Yamashita couldn't stop staring at his back when he was walking away which might mean that perhaps he needn't have to plan some complicated things to get what he wanted.
"Eh, I didn't know that you have a thing for cute boys, Pi."
"Shut up, Toma! Koyama, do you have that boy's number. I'll have to at least make up for that shirt." Yamashita snapped but a shade of pink appeared in his face no matter how hard he tried to deny it. Tegoshi...

Anyway, in case you were confused, the story is now taking place to 3 years before the prologue part, while the first italic part of this chapter is a little flashback of Tegoshi's past. :D
