The day passed quickly. When everyone realized it, it was already late at night, or rather dawn. The clock hanging on the wall was ringing as hands of the clock showed that it was 12 a.m.

Yamashita Tomohisa was still sitting on the same spot since morning. He hadn't moved from that room at all, not even intending to exit the house anytime soon.

Being left there made him thought a lot.

Had he done the right thing?

Of course, nobody gave any exact answer to him. No matter what, he knew that he was too stubborn to leave the house, while Nishikido Ryo was just another stubborn guy who wouldn't let his wish be fulfilled easily.

He knew that but he had no intention of giving up at all.

A small tray was left on the table, with a big plate and two some plates also a glass on it. It seemed like Ryo was kind enough to have his maid prepared some meals for him. But then, it might only just because he pitied him. Whatever reason he had, Yamapi left the tray untouched. He just didn't have the appetite.

Coming to this house turned out to let his mind to be at ease. Strangely, he was able to think clearly now. His mind was more in peace than it was before.

What had he done?

As his mind was clearer, Yamapi realized how foolish he had been, coming here without making any decent preparation. But he didn't regret it at all. He knew that he would regret it so much if he decided to take sleeping pills and go to sleep instead earlier. A weak smile was curved in his mouth as he thought about that. It was strange how he was able to be so calm in this state, the contrary of his previous state.

Inside the house was so quiet. It was nothing to wonder about, it's already late at night anyway.

But the endless silence suddenly brought a creepy feeling for him. As if something bad was going to happen. He had no base for it, purely his feeling.

Sighing, he stood up and opened the door leading to the main part of the house. As a normal human, he would need to go to the toilet too. It was dark and silence. Only a few lamps were turned on, so there weren't much light inside the house, but enough to see the way around.

It was until then that a small noise was heard.

He cancelled his intention to go to the toilet immediately. His desire was not that bothering at all anyway; he decided to go to the toilet earlier just to kill his time. Yamashita turned around and walked a bit in search of the source of the noise he heard earlier. The voice was faint, but he was sure that he was not just imagining thing.

The walk led him in front of a door. Pondering between opening it or not, Yamapi chose to open the door at the end. Slowly he turned the knob and pushed the door. It was unlocked...

"It's rude to open the door without asking the permission, or at least knocking it, Yamashita."

Yamapi was frowned as he heard the cold voice, but sighed relievedly as he recognized that it was only Ryo's.

"I was just looking for something, and was somehow being led here." Yamapi replied earnestly. He didn't see the point for lying anyway, so why shouldn't he be honest of it?

"Hmm..." Ryo was sitting leisurely on his seat. "Say, why are you being so stubborn on this?"

What made him so stubborn?

Yamapi didn't know what answer he should give for that question. Why? A matter of feeling? A weird answer, yet Yamapi didn't know what other answer would fit it better.

"Just... Let me see him once. It's more than enough."

Ryo let out a sigh. He was about to stand up when quite a loud noise was heard from outside the room. He didn't waste any more time to reach the door and took a short peek outside, before closing his door again with an expressionless face.

Yamapi didn't know what was happening outside, not even what was the reason of Ryo's sudden changes in act. He might look as cold as usual, but Yamapi noticed a slight difference in it.

Being too caught up in his own thought, Yamapi failed to notice the current condition. When finally realized it, Ryo had disappeared to the thin air, leaving Yamapi with a big question mark in his head while he saw a stair leading to a lower ground suddenly appeared below where Ryo's seat used to be at.

####

From a set of small stairs to a long dark corridor. Yamapi didn't know that his choice to step his feet down would lead him into this. What kind of place was this? Supposedly, a basement?

The path was only one, but it was so long. Yamapi tried to walk in slow steps in order not to make any noise. He, after all, didn't want Ryo to notice that he was following him, right. But that was only if Ryo was really going to this place.

There was a light at last. Yamapi could see it from a distance, thus he fastened his steps without bothering about the noises his feet made. Feeling anxious, he ran to that direction. It was as if something was pulling him there, as if he would be able to see something there. That kind of feeling suddenly came upon him without him knowing any clue at all. Following his steps was the only thing he did.

He stopped his steps immediately as he arrived at the bright place. It was...bright. Yamapi needed a while to adapt with the light and the view waiting for him turned out to be way more surprising from what he thought previously. His eyes were widened while he kept staring on a certain stop, unable to turn his gaze to other thing.

White room, white bed with a person lying in it, some infusion, some strange items... Why did he feel familiar with this?

"I'm not giving any explanation." Ryo suddenly answered, as if he had expected Yamapi's coming. A few people in white robes immediately flee through another corridor on the other side of the room. Everything had been removed from the bed, and Ryo took something, or rather someone from the bed before he went to the other corridor. Yamapi was too shocked of everything, but he decided to follow Ryo while kept staring on whom Ryo was carrying with a puzzled look.

But they were a bit too late.

A masked man suddenly blocked the way, leaving both Ryo and Yamapi no choice but to return back to the bright room, where another three masked men were waiting. Sighing, Ryo put the person he carried on the floor, leaning on the wall.

"Nishikido Ryo, right?" the one blocking the corridor was asking.

No answer was heard.

"Just surrender. It wouldn't hurt that much. No matter how powerful you are, you won't be able to leave safely after messing the 'world'." another one said.

Yamapi was completely clueless, but he knew that this conversation might lead into something dangerous. He simply stared at Ryo before looking back at the people leaning on the wall.

"Get him away from here. The other corridor would lead to the road in front of this mansion, so you'll be safe once outside. There's a hospital near here. And yes, Tegoshi Yuya is still alive. You were too panic to recognize things." Ryo whispered to Yamapi in a breath, still with the same expressionless face.

Everything was too confusing for Yamapi. But there was no time for that as suddenly one of the masked guy approached Ryo, trying to capture him, but the shorter man's reflex was too good until he managed to escape it immediately. Another one from the three masked man inside the corridor got on Ryo, while the one blocking the corridor approached Yamapi.

Yamapi hated fighting so much, but he would do it if it was necessary. He managed to dodge a few punches and suffered a few others, but he knew well that in this state, he would definitely lose. Something should be done, fast.

"Don't think. Just fight. I guess we'll be having a truce for now only?" Ryo suddenly said. When Yamapi looked at him, one of his attackers had been knocked down, while he was still occupied by the other one. Right at the same time Yamapi lost his concentration which resulted on the pain on his stomach.

A gun ruined everything.

The non-fighting-masked-man suddenly revealed a small black thing he brought and pointed it at the unconscious Tegoshi. Yamapis eyes were suddenly widened, as the piece of the bad memory he previously had returned. A the time he finally managed to knock down his opponent with his last punch, the man had pulled the trigger and let it go.

The same nightmare happened again. Or so what he thought. Yamapi ran to Tegoshi's direction in hysteria, trying to shield him, but nothing was happening after that, at least not to either Tegoshi or Yamapi.

"Bring...him...away...now." Yamapi could hear the same cold voice again, although this time it was weaker than it used to be.

Red. Yamapi could clearly see how Ryo's white shirt was stained by a certain red liquid. The gun was lying on the floor while both of Ryo's hands were seen grabbing the left masked man's hands tightly. "I know my...limit. Just...bring him go. He wouldn't be able to survive in this state any longer..." the voice was getting weaker and weaker. Yamapi stared at Ryo's back, before turning his gaze to Tegoshi, and back to Ryo again.

And the thing Yamapi saw for the first and last time appeared. A smile, a real smile. Ryo was turning around to meet Pi's gaze and smiled. "I...beg you."

And that made Yamapi made up his mind. Without anymore hesitation, he reached Tegoshi and carried him immediately, after looking at Ryo's back for the last time...

####

The place he first seen and his eyes were trying to open was white, purely white. His eyes were gradually opened as he slowly gained his perfect vision.

Where am I?

"T-Tegoshi?"

That voice is familiar...

"Y-Yamashita - senpai..." Tegoshi said in a weak voice. "W-Where is this?"

"Hospital." Yamapi replied.

"Hospital? Wh-" Tegoshi suddenly remembered the previous incident. That was why he felt pain. He slowly tried to wake from his lying state and sat instead with Yamapi's help. A sudden thought suddenly struck him. "R-Ryo? W-Where is he? Where is he?" After the last memory he had... Everything should be such a mess.

But he didn't get the answer he wanted at all. Yamapi remained silent for an unknown reason, as he looked... gloomy.

"W-What's wrong? Tell me!"

"T-Tegoshi. J-Just calm down. A-Alright. I'll tell you this story, but..." Yamapi took a deep breath. "...don't be panic."

The story was finally started. Yamapi didn't know where to start at first so the story was a bit messy at the earlier part, but he tried to give it as detailed as it could be. A few pauses were there while the story teller himself didn't look at the listener even once. He was too scared to see the reaction.

And the story finally reached its end. Yamapi, finally got the courage, looked at Tegoshi.

The tears... The voice of a thunder was suddenly heard as the rain was seen pouring down outside the window.

"So... He has gone... Not me?" Tegoshi asked. But before Yamapi could answer anything, Tegoshi had started again. "I-I'm sorry. Could you leave me alone?"

Without saying any further thing, Yamapi knew well what he should do. Slowly he walked closer to reach the door. He stopped when he was right in front of it, took a short look at Tegoshi, and went away.

What can I do to shed that tears away?

####

"And all of Nishikido wealth had been put under the name of Ryo only, which would be inherited by Tegoshi Yuya. That's all Nishikido - sama's wish." the old lawyer handed the file and a pen to Tegoshi.

Tegoshi quickly put his sign in it and gave it to the lawyer as the lawyer gave another files to him.

"So, that's all my job. Now if you'll excuse me..."

"Wait."

"Yes, Tegoshi - sama?"

"C-Could you arrange my release now? I want it now, without anyone knowing it." Tegoshi asked. He didn't know if this was the right thing to do, but he knew that it was all his fault. So he just had to disappear, and everything would be ok.

There was a short pause before the lawyer opened his mouth. "Yes, Tegoshi - sama. Right away."

And Tegoshi simply stared outside the window, looking at the dark sky again. There were water everywhere. When would the rain stop? But Tegoshi knew that the rain inside his hear wouldn't stop, even forever...

####

"Is that all, Yamashita - sama?"

"Yes. I'll arrange it. He could be released now if he wants to."

"I see... My job would be easier by that. But, is it alright for you?" the old lawyer asked. "I'm sorry if I get into your privacy."

"No, it's alright." Yamapi let out a small chuckle. "It's not I who decide what he wants to do. I he wants to go, then I'll let him. But I'll find him someday, for sure..."

The old lawyer looked at Yamapi and sighed. "Youngsters these days..." he shook his head and chuckled. "Well, I'm taking my leave for now. Have a nice day, Yamashita - san."

As the lawyer went inside Tegoshi's room again, Yamapi took his time to disappear for now. If Tegoshi wanted to go, he would let him. But one day, he would find him again for sure, and when that time came, he knew he wouldn't let Tegoshi go again...

End...

E/N: Well, that's it. It' back to be unbeta-ed. Or rather, I self beta this.. :)

Looking back at the previous chapters, I noticed how it had been written messily, which isn't quite a wonder now as my muse was somewhere away last time. Things started to get better from last chapter, as my real muse returned, somehow. To be exact, if possible, I'd like to re-write all so it wouldn't be that messy, but it's quite impossible, right...*laugh*

And the character's death... I don't know how well I've written it, but I guess I'm not going to write any multichapter with this kind of ending anymore. Too...what, I can't describe it. But then, I couldn't believe what I say either...*laugh*

Special thanks to redturtleotaku who'd done the beta job. She's sooo busy now, in case you wonder why this chapter is unbeta-ed at the end. And of course to all who read this.. :)

There'll be an epilogue, which would come out sometime tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.. :)

Lastly, hope you guys enjoy this...^^
