Thanks for reading!

The twist was not originally going to be in there, but I couldn't resist bringing a little drama into the story, which of course is now going to make it longer. *sigh*

I love D/J sibling relationship, too, and the fact that Darken can relax with her and say things that he can't say to anyone else.

I wanted Jennsen to be a counterpart to Belle Watling - during most of GWTW, Rhett seemed to confide in her as a friend more than anyone else - not to mention the red hair. Of course, Jennsen has more power and far greater control over the plot.

Thanks for writing this gem - was Jennsen as a business woman somewhat inspired by Scarlett O'Hara? You already put Darken into curtains - I can't get the image out of my head of him with a curtain rod left in the fabric like the Carol Burnett skit. Uh oh, my cultural references are old! Keep it up, this story is really fun!

Thanks for reading!

Our cultural references were exactly the same! I had the Carol Burnett scene in mind when I wrote that - I can still see her walking down those stairs with that curtain rod across her shoulders. I re-watched that parody on YouTube recently. It still makes me laugh til I cry.

Jennsen as the proprienter as the Wayfarer's and a confident to Darken, is more of a reference to Belle Watling. Rhett always seemed to go to her for advice and platonic companionship rather than physical. I also wanted to make her independent and in a position where she could control a major part of the plot.

I didn't originally intend to bring Cara and Darken's son into the picture, but decided to complicate things a little and thought it would be interesting. Of course it also makes things a little more serious, too.

(Next chapter is in the works, but I really need to finish my WiP sometime in the next few weeks.

I can't get this phrase out of my head: "I saw it in the window and I just couldn't resist it" - good luck on your WiP - I must work on mine today and tomorrow and not let myself get distracted!

Oh, lovely Darken/Jennsen sibling relationship :D I love that Jennsen is a businesswoman, and that Darken's looking for his son - your description of what happened made sense. I always like to think Darken and Cara's son survived :D

The first bit reminded me of Lisa's post - no, not baby obsession! I also like the implication that Kahlan is the boss in Richard and Kahlan's marriage and that Darken is the one actually running things :D

Can't wait for more - I haven't read Gone With the Wind, but I'm enjoying this story a lot, and maybe I'll try and find the book :D

The book is available online at http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks02/0200161.txt if you want to read it like that...I love Project Gutenberg!

Thanks! I'm so glad you think I got her right. I've never written Jennsen, Darken/Jennsen or Darken/Cara so this is all new territory for me.

I'll have to tone back on the chattiness. I was trying to show how Darken's stature the world had been reduced, and Jennsen has gained in self-confidence and independence - so I saw her as being totally unafraid of him. She knows he needs her, and he knows it, too. And because, I always sort of like thinking of Jennsen chatting with her family

I love the Darken and Jennsen bonding :D And I love Jennsen running the inn and collecting the local gossip and taking in strays :D And how they ganged up on Richard to get him to allow Jennsen to run the inn.
Intriguing plot twist :D
Inner Rahl :D Absolutely. Yay, Jennsen.

Thanks!

I'm glad that Jennsen and Jennsen/Darken worked for you.

The twist wasn't going to be there originally, but then I started thinking that if I was going to do any Darken/Cara I couldn't just ignore their son (especially in light of the R/? baby!fic chapter that might be coming!!!! Don't worry, there will a slight twist on that, too.)
