That sounds like a fantastic plan!!! I say GO FOR IT. I mean, I know that Oxford holds a lot of appeal and is so shiny and wonderful and all but... at the end of the day, all there is is YOU sitting in a room and doing some work and if you DO feel so happy with the law route and if that DOES seem to be an easier route to go at this point, then I think that that is a perfectly good decision.... a wise one.
I hope that you will be able to breathe deep and enjoy the ride, now that you've picked a ride to get on, for the time being.
The coin-flipping method does have its benefits and intriguing truth-telling to it! I'm glad you've been able to come to a decision about this; espeically one that makes you happy that it has finally been made.
Those people I encountered who were older and coming back to (law) school after several years doing something else typically had some very specific end-game in mind when it came to a job/field, as it undoubtedly and nearly always was related to the work they had been doing before (teaching... something to do with the environment, etc.) I suppose something similar in reverse is possible, although I wonder how much you'd really want to return to academia after so many years in "real life". Perhaps it's best to just not give a shit about the end-game right now and do what would make you happiest if it were the last thing you'd ever do. Happy does not equal selfish or criminal or irresponsible. A happy Bronwen is a production member of society, she is! ;o)
