Where has the time gone?  It seemed as if January was dull, grey, wet and interminable.  Even with Chinese New Year part way.  Suddenly it's the end of February (almost), we've survived two named storms, we haven't been flooded (though too many have,)  it's rained a lot more, I've still managed to get the washing dried (mostly) outdoors (some out ( Read more... )

My mother used to have help from her former's colleague husband to take care of her garden. He's had some health issues, and is quite busy with his own daughter, so my mom's garden has been in dire need of care lately. Since I'm on holidays I'll try to spend a few hours here and there taking care of it. It will give my mom's more reasons to complain about me, so everyone will be happy, in a different way..
If only it was less windy and specially not raining !

We had storm Jorge this weekend. 'He' blew up from Spain, hence the name.
Unlike storms Ciara and Dennis, which each dumped the equivalent of a much longer month than even a leap-year February's worth of rain on us, Jorge was strong enough to blow me about, and chilly, but brought sunshine.

I'd have done washing and it would have dried, particularly now I know how many pegs I need to use, but was out most of Saturday at a Textile Origami course. I had to go, if only to find out quite what Textile Origami involves.
Wool felt, as it turned out. It was a good 4 hours, well and creatively spent though.

I did consider getting a bit 'political' or something, but ended up with folded bits of pink felt on a semi-solid grey ground. No, I haven't photographed it. If I remember I might blog about it after Easter, but currently the ol' memory has more holes than a fishing net.
