Star Spotting

Apparently the astronomical event for this evening is the sight of the crescent moon directly below Venus - look west at/after sunset.  As with any other astronomical viewings, this will come courtesy of the 'ahses and any clahds which may otherwise be in between.  Happy looking, Dear Reader.  I don't know about where you live, but in these parts ( Read more... )

Good for you!

About the one time anything like flat shoes were fashionable was when Lady Diana, later Princess Diana, first appeared on the scene. She, being slightly taller than 'average' (5' 4"- 5' 6") tended to wear flatties, as well as keeping her head down. Ah well.

I hadn't heard of the 'astronomical event' but luckily read this at exactly the right moment, and now have some great photos of the sunset with Moon and Venus. Thanks!

Totally agree with you (and commentator above) about heeled shoes.

Apparently Saturn will be 'in opposition' tomorrow evening, rising in the east at sunset and in southern sky at midnight, a golden "star" in the constellation Scorpius. Should the sky be clear, of course.
